The flyfishing tackle I use
This page is dedicated to the fishing tackle I use, and love. Love? Yes, I think that is the right word. All the rods, reels, nets, knives and other stuff I collected over the years have somekind of story behind it. As you might have seen, there’s a seperate page about the Bamboo / Splitcane rods I have.
This page is currently “under construction”. (january 2026)
Fly Rods:
- “The Flea”
A 6’3″ bamboo / splitcane rod build by Peter den Hollander. He build an extra short butt section | “The Little Flea” | for it so I can shorten it to 5’6″ for fishing the smallest streams and brooks in my beloved German hills. - “The Featherweight”
Model: PPP Glenn Clarke. A vintage bamboo rod produced by the French tackle firm Pezon & Michel. in collaboration with the famous French hotelier Charles Ritz. A wonderful little vintage bamboo rod and, like The Flea, a length of 6’3″. The difference with The Flea is that this rod is a little faster and a little more stiff which makes it the perfect dry fly rod for me. - “Hardy Marksman”
A lovely, dark green, light and crisp smallstream carbon rod (3 pcs) made by the House of Hardy. At only 6 feet for a #2 line it is perfect for dry fly fishing in the smallest streams. (I fish it with a #3 line) Matched with a Hardy Marksman #2/3 ultra light reel.
