Fishing Wild Places - For Sale

After 40 years of collecting (fly) fishing related tackle and items, it's time to sell some.

On this page you might find vintage books, rods, fly reels, spinning reels, fly tying materials, lures, art. knives, paintings, etc. which are for sale.

I am no longer using eBay because of the silly high fees, import/export duties and other ways they have to add costs to any transaction. PayPal offers you buying protection, so who needs eBay?

If you see an item you would like to purchase, just drop me an email at erik@fishingwildplaces.com and I will get back to you asap. If we agree on the transaction (including shipping fee) I will send you a request for payment through PayPal. After I have received your payment, I will update you about the shipping proces and provide you with a track & trace code. (I am located in The Netherlands)

George M. Kelson began his continuing series On the Description of Salmon Flies in 1884 in The Fishing Gazette. The first eighteen patterns he discussed were a series of flies invented by Major John P. Traherne. (David Zincavage in the introduction to this book). This was Kelson’s famous series of “Land and Water” salmon flies. Here Paul Schmookler reprints Kelson’s articles from The Fishing Gazette and Land and Water, together with superb photographs of his reproductions of Traherne’s classic salmon fly patterns. He combined his talents as a naturalist, a historian and a fly tyer, with the photography of Ingrid Sils to produce this beautiful work – the first of his “modern” classic salmon fly books.
