Fishing Wild Places - eBay Store

After 40 years of collecting (fly) fishing related tackle and items, it's time to sell some.

So I started a modest online store on eBay.
You can find vintage
books, rods, fly reels, spinning reels, fly tying materials, lures, art. knives, paintings, etc. You name it.

On this website page, below the banner, I sometimes highlight some of the latest, or special, items which I have on offer on eBay.

PS. If an item is not part of an auction / bidding proces, you can always drop me an email or give me a call  to see if you can buy direct, if you don’t have an eBay account, for example. Otherwise, happy bidding!

Currently I have a really nice limited edition book on offer. Leather bound in slipcase in near perfect condition.  1993 1st edition.

Signed and numbered copy #42 (of 300).
Edited & flies tied by Paul Schmookler

Some pictures are a bit wonky because I do not want to open this special book all the way. To keep it in the best condition possible.

Size: 220 x 220mm
124 pages.  Full-page colour photographs by Ingrid V. Sils. Introduction by J. David Zincavage.

Quarter tan leather over marbled boards, title & all edges gilt. Tan cloth slip-case. Edition limited to 300 copies, signed & numbered by the editor.

George M. Kelson began his continuing series On the Description of Salmon Flies in 1884 in The Fishing Gazette. The first eighteen patterns he discussed were a series of flies invented by Major John P. Traherne. (David Zincavage in the introduction to this book). This was Kelson’s famous series of “Land and Water” salmon flies. Here Paul Schmookler reprints Kelson’s articles from The Fishing Gazette and Land and Water, together with superb photographs of his reproductions of Traherne’s classic salmon fly patterns. He combined his talents as a naturalist, a historian and a fly tyer, with the photography of Ingrid Sils to produce this beautiful work – the first of his “modern” classic salmon fly books.
